For the past two weeks, C has been waking up at 5:30 a.m. everyday….thus, waking up the entire house and everyone being grouchy by 7:30. Both kids asleep again now.
Not only has she been waking with the roosters, but she wakes once in the night and comes to our room. Luckily she goes back to sleep soon…any other toddlers exhibiting weird sleep patterns?
Cyclists- I get it…spring is finally...

Best resto in the world & Girona
I was just reading this article about the top restaurants in the world and El Celler De Can Roca in Girona tops the list. I was immediately transported to my short, but memorable time spent in Girona.
It is singlehandedly one of the most beautiful places i’ve ever been. Nestled in the Costa Brava, rich in history, charming, winding alleyways, colourful homes, and so many top restaurants. I...

Happy Half Birthday Little Man! I feel like 6 months is a big milestone, lots of development and many new things: the introduction of food (started 2 weeks ago, more on this later), crawling, yes, crawling….time to babyproof! Exploring & reaching for objects and putting everything in his mouth, fascination with tags and becoming super chatty…he’s pretty loud once he gets...

This little girl is full of personality! She’s inquisitive, curious and a social butterfly. She loves to make us laugh (see above) or does her silly hula girl dance. She often says ridiculous things- like the other day, she told us she needed a “diamond ciuccio”, italian for pacifier. No idea where in the world she got that one from, I don’t walk around asking for...
Weekend Recap
Friday night was for the SuperWhy! concert. Saturday was insanely busy, but in a good way! Trips to C’s preschool class, Noah’s pediatrician, the burbs, a park, shopping for me, lunch at Meatheads, Costco + Trader Joe’s and falling asleep exhausted at 9:30pm!
Today was for sleeping in (7am these days, i’ll take it) and waking to coffee and almond croissants thanks to the...

New Reads: Toddler Edition
After the Caldecott winners were announced, I decided to load up on this winner, this honorable mention and this silly book which is C’s favorite. I love reading them all!
What are some books you and your kids are loving these days?

What's Cooking
Last week I got caught up with the Boston events and really didn’t feel up to blogging. In terms of food we stuck with some old standards, but I tried a couple new recipes, spring veggie minestrone, delicious + crockpot and Roasted Cauliflower + Chickpeas with Mustard and Parsley from GP’s new cookbook.
Has anyone tried any recipes from the book? If so, what and what did you think?

Weekend Recap
This was a fun & busy weekend! Friday night we finally tried GT Fish & Oyster. It was SNOWING on the way there…I repeat, snowing! Spring, please grace us with your presence! Anyways, I knew the moment I would leave the house there would be breaking news about Suspect #2 and sure enough!
Anyways, the important stuff, food. I had pinot noir which was good, but chintzy pour, my...

Headed to DC next month for work and the family is coming along for some days of fun. We will be there a few days before I have to work, so looking for the best area to stay during that time with a 2.5 yr old and 7 month old. (We will be near the WH later in the week). But….what should we see and where should we eat? Any kids suggestions would be much appreciated (esp since the Mister will...

Things i'm loving....
Books: The new Gwyneth Paltrow cookbook. Yep, I said it! I too have read the scathing reviews criticizing the avocado toast or a boiled egg recipes, but there is so much more!, truly! Everyone’s quick to judge GP, but I was impressed with her first book and I know this one will be just as good! Wish there were more pics of the food though, than GP, but whatever!
Reading this book for my...

I love Costco, seriously!
Do you know what one of my favorite things to do is now that we’re in Chicago? Grocery shop! Seriously, after years of shopping in crowded and small grocery stores, I love being able to walk the aisles with a normal sized cart! Not to mention, we have way more space to store stuff!
I’ve become a huge fan of the Whole Foods in Lincoln Park & Costco! Yep, I adore Costco. Don’t...
4 Years....
4 years ago today, I awoke to dark skies, pouring rain (good luck among the superstitious) and a huge bailout protest outside our apartment. Despite the gloom, it was one of the brightest moments.
Together with our families, we got married at City Hall and celebrated at Eleven Madison Park and a few other NYC faves.
4 years, 2 kids and a new city later, we are celebrating each other, our...

Scratchy, sore throat…again. This might be the worst cold season i’ve ever experienced. Babies + No Sleep + Toddler = Germs/Always Sick!
One of my cousin’s is coming to town in May w. his gf. He’s super cool, well travelled and a foodie. 4 days only..where must he eat/drink? What to avoid? It’s hard to give such a curated list!!

Easter Weekend
This weekend was for enjoying the warmer weather, running errands, indulging in a surprise Easter basket delivery from Canada (yay for Big Turks and giant bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs), Easter Egg hunts x 2, colouring Easter eggs, spring asparagus risotto and celebrating Noah’s first Easter.
Mommy fail, the Easter outfit I ordered Noah but failed to try on beforehand was way too big....

I woke up at 5am completely sick. Awful, yes, shocking, no! Trying to look at the up’s and well i’m below pre-pregnancy weight! A good flu away from my goal weight ;)
Thank you to everyone who left kind notes and suggestions. I had not even thought of coconut water (thank you and you lovely ladies), but will be stocking up! C is much better today, and I am keeping a close eye on her...
The absolute worst.
The plague has officially wreaked havoc upon us. Ok, maybe not the plague, but a stomach virus or rotavirus.
Wednesday evening (exactly 3 days post a playdate), C woke up and got sick. It freaked us both out since she’s never really puked before. Thursday was spent trying to make her comfortable and happy. Friday, she was still sluggish, but I felt the worse was over. Phew! Saturday morning...

Weekend Recap
This weekend was pretty uneventful, cold and dealing with sniffles, snotsuckers (three cheers for the Nosefrida), classes, errands and relaxing!
Friday afternoon I had a meeting. As I left, it was pouring. Of course, no umbrella, rush hour and not a cab in sight. Speaking of sight, trying to spot cabs in a downpour is a nightmare. Can’t we make all cabs bright yellow?!? After unthawing, we...

Best Ever Banana Bread
Last week after watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, C wanted some banana bread. Not a bad idea! We decided to try a new recipe & made some slight adjustments. This was hands down the best ever banana bread i’ve made (and i’ve made several different variations).
Don’t kid yourself though, Martha would cringe to know I overfilled the tin, resulting in a smoke...
