Weekend Recap
This weekend was great- kept busy, ate lots of delicious things and had a lot of family fun- Butterfly Exhibit at the Notebaert Museum, morning dips in the pool, bubbles and catching up with cousins visiting from out of of town!
Summer Fashion Must Haves - What You Need For 2012... →

Okay, maybe you’re a little behind the 8-ball — you still have some wooly sweaters and too-heavy coats cluttering up your closet, and it’s very possible you have no idea where your favorite flat sandals are. Oh, and it’s going to be 83 late…
Some great summer staples!
We rarely hear about the little acts of love that exist between partners, where...

What's up, Wednesday?
I woke up with a VOICE! Still not 100% but majorly relieved (since I need to talk for 3 hrs tomorrow!) Yes, wish me luck!
I just finished reading Andy Cohen’s memoir “Most Talkative”. Good read! I already adore Andy and his antics and fell in love with his mom Eleanor and his many stories from Oprah to dishing on the Housewives.
I came across these beauties via Pinterest...
Weekend ...
Happy belated Mother’s Day to all :) Hopefully you were able to relax and enjoy the day.
Unfortunately we all got sick this weekend- yucky virus/cold. Yesterday afternoon I started to lose my voice & it’s completely gone. Really frustrating trying to communicate. At first Charlotte was alarmed & now she tries to imitate my squeaks.
Fortunately, I have been able to get a bit...
Random Thoughts...
Why is it that the cable window is always overblown? Ie: We will have someone there b/w 8-12, they show at 2:45 and are still here…..likely to be here for another few hrs?
Why is it that at any given time I can think of a million things I want to buy…except for occasions when people want to buy me actual gifts? HELP? What do I want for Mother’s Day ;)
Where can I find the...
Preserving Memories: Some Tips & Questions
While I was pregnant with C, I got so many baby books…most were really ugly & didn’t really contain room for everything I wanted to include. I came upon Ruby Love Designs and was smitten. Adorable styles, additional pages/packs -for holidays, outings etc. It’s been great and I know it will be a great keepsake, but finding the time to update…well that’s another...

What are you reading?
I haven’t been reading that much lately, though I recently succombed to the “Fifty Shades” trilogy. Obviously, it’s not winning any Pulitzer’s, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them. Shocking…erotic…disturbing at times, but all in all, a breezy read. I would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves looking for something quick and breezy and is...
21 months
Charlotte is 21 months old today! She is an utter joy and the past few months have been amazing—seeing her piece together her thoughts, ideas, words and now small sentences. Yesterday we took a stroll to pick up the Mister from work. As we got closer she started to say “Dada, are you?” “Dada, are you?”. When we arrived and were waiting she was gazing up. Curious as to...

Time Lapse: Filmmaker Films Daughter Every Week... →
Filmmaker Frans Hofmeester spent the past twelve years hovering over his daughter Lotte with a video camera — as fathers are wont to do. Recently, he took snippets of footage from all 600+ weeks he had on film, and pieced together this mesmerizing time-lapse:

Admittedly, I am type A and super organized. Procrastination usually drives me crazy. However, surprises like today’s belated anniversary flowers from my sweet MIL make me grateful & appreciative of those who aren’t always the most organized. This unexpected surprise brightens my day & allows us to celebrate just a little bit longer :)
Mischievous Toddler
After singing, colouring and reading, I snuck out of Charlotte’s room while she continued to play. I managed to take a quick bite of my lunch, even sneak to the bathroom and check some email. All the while thinking- this age is great, she’s playing independently and quietly. I can actually get stuff done! Immediately, the warning bells rang and I went to check on her and subsequently...
Relaxing...

Easter Fun
This Easter was a lot of fun & filled with many firsts, especially now that Charlotte is old enough to understand and join in on the activities. She loved discovering & subsequently tearing into her easter basket and fiddling around with everything inside (namely eating play-doh, and trying to figure out how the pinwheel works) & dyeing Easter eggs. Throughout the day, we managed to...

Dinner Quandry
Our anniversary is this Tuesday & i’d like to go out for dinner to celebrate. Since M has been super cool with the revolving door of visitors and being super dad - I wanted to pick a place he’d love. What are some restos that your significant others love in the Chicago area? He loves beer, not really a foodie- so nothing gastronomic or amuse bouche will really delight.
Thoughts?
Anyone need a great....
Bridesmaid Dress? It’s convertible & can be worn a zillion ways. Perfect dress for any occasion! My youngest sister is getting married in July & us bridesmaids are wearing the convertible dress from TwoBirdsBridesmaid. The dress usually retails for $290 (mid-length) or $310 (full gown)…but just scored the mid-length in black for $169 on gilt. Comes in a few colors too!!
Deal Alert- Vince
I love finding a good deal & am happy to pass this along. This Vince sweater is so cozy, love the colours (orange, cobalt blue and white) and the best part…I bought it for $129.99 and 20% off at Off 5th. I was strolling through Nordstrom and found the same sweater for $220.00!
I'm Back...
Had a little Tumblr hiatus since life has been very busy these days. Lots of exciting things happening which I hope to share soon…just don’t want to jinx them yet ;) Spent the past few days hanging out with my parents, who were in town visiting which was great. Needless to say, Charlotte was VERY spoiled and had tonnes of fun!
Looking forward to another visit from some good friends...
Here's what...
Here’s what’s been going on this past week-
Macbook messed up and is getting fixed….which is why I haven’t been blogging much.
Gorgeous weather= long walks, trips to the park and generally much more energy and happiness!
Finally finished reading Night Circus- I liked it and think it could be adapted well into a movie.
Busy with meetings and hoping for some good news...
Thanks to yoursamegirl for taking such lovely pics! Highly recommend her :) She’s also a super awesome person and friend!
I love this pic of C!

Lincoln Park Farm in the Zoo
Yesterday was the perfect day for a trip to the Lincoln Park Farm in the Zoo. Charlotte was absolutely mesmerized by the real life versions of the barn animals in her books! After paying our courtesies to the cows, goats, chicks, chickens, ponies and pigs, we stopped to say hello to the zebras and decided to enjoy the great weather and walk home. It’s a long walk, but C was cooperative, and...

Thanks to MOMFINDS for the heads up! Managed to snag these cute pieces for C!

On my radar...
I cannot wait until March Madness! For the past 5 yrs, I have been part of this amazing pool & have come close to winning several times. I always love watching my picks and the stats & gloat at my higher ranking than the boys ;)
March has been and will be a busy month! Last weekend BFF was in town, in a couple of weeks my parents will be visiting. I’m so excited, not just because...
